Awakened by an Angel

A few years ago, I awoke to the melody and gentle words of an old song playing in my head: “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. No, not just for some, but for everyone.” It stayed with me for days, but soon faded amid the sounds of mundane routines, parenting, and so on. Years have gone by, yet those words occasionally stream spontaneously through my mind, as if to redirect my attention to my life’s work. 

My true work emerged after I experienced a Soul Wake Up Call  thirty years ago. That day, a Divine Presence jolted me out of my anguish with a healing grace that lingered for months. Although I didn’t see anything, like wings or brilliant lights, I felt amazing benevolent energy. I know it was an Angel. It came to teach me that, no matter how grave and unforgivable our actions, we are loved without condition in the unseen world. And, that we are capable of bettering our lives.​

That experience changed the course of my life and prompted me to service. It called me to take what I learned about unconditional LOVE and impart it’s wisdom. It invited me to teach others not to fall victim to their circumstances, but instead to find the sage within. It was the “behind the scenes” influence for work I developed with schools and families. Now, I choose to bring this true source of my life’s work to the forefront…full disclosure…LOL! I sense the timing is divinely orchestrated. Let me explain. 

In May, my husband and I celebrated our youngest daughter’s graduation from the very university where he and I met and earned our degrees. Like our older daughter, she is now employed full-time and living on her own. We are so proud.  As first generation college graduates ourselves, my husband and I are very grateful for the realization of these parents' dream. “Mission accomplished!”

As that chapter of my life ends, enthusiasm is building and I am eager to begin a new one. Inner guidance is leading me to resume my coaching and speaking business. However, there’s a slight twist to my work. Today, I fully acknowledge the truth and influence of my spiritual wake up call long ago. The intention of my work remains the same: to be an uplifting and empowering force for good.

During meditation last week, I was inspired to begin blogging again. I was motivated to use pictures from my personal collection of Angels, which I’ve either bought or received as gifts. These symbols of love have graced my home since my Angelic encounter.

Isn’t it amazing how once I made the decision to start writing, the Universe swooped in with two magical synchronicities? These Divine Winks, as I call them, let me know the heavenly realms are supporting me and magically showing me the way. 

The first Wink: I had planned to start writing again on Monday. The night before I received an unexpected, but delightful gift from my sister, Lupe. It was a souvenir from her travels to Spain with a notecard that read “Saw this angels ‘candle’ at Astorga Cathedral and I thought of you.” As I write this blog, she still has no idea of my decision to resume doing so. Needless to say, it is the picture I am using to  kick off my blog once more. Charming, don’t you think? And, just meant to be!

The second Divine Wink took place the morning I was to begin writing. During my daily walk at the park, I crossed paths with a couple. As they got closer to me, I couldn’t help but notice the single word printed on the lady’s T-shirt: ANGEL. Need I say more?

Reflection

We all go through stages and phases in life, ups and downs. Is something still calling you? Are you living true to who you are? Are you paying attention?

Listen to your heart. Your Angel’s are whispering. Follow their guidance. Then look for their Divine Winks. 
Don’t run or hide from what is true for you. Instead, set it free. It’s the light you came here to share.
